Important Notes

Online

Caution: After installing this version of the online plug-in, you can no longer downgrade to an earlier version of the plug-in. To revert to an earlier version of the online plug-in, remove the current installation and then install a new copy of the previous version.

Caution: Editing the Registry incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.

Installation Issues - Citrix Receiver

  • If a user tries to launch a published application and has not logged off or rebooted after using Citrix Receiver to upgrade the online plug-in from 11.2 to 12.0.x, the application might not launch and a dialog box displaying the WFCRUN32.exe command-line parameters might appear. Workaround: After Citrix Receiver updates the online plug-in to 12.0.x, log off and log on. [#230768]

Installation Issues - XenDesktop Connections

  • If .NET Framework 2.0 or later is removed from a user device (before or after installing the plug-in), the Desktop Viewer fails to launch and the following error is displayed: 'The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.' This occurs because removing .NET Framework 2.0 leaves the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727. To workaround this issue, reinstall .NET Framework 2.0 or later, or delete the key if the Desktop Viewer is not required. [#211729]
  • If you upgrade from the Desktop Receiver 11.1 to the online plug-in 12.0.x on Windows Vista or Windows 7 and have User Access Control enabled, you may receive an error message about a failure to write to files and directories. The workaround for this issue is to remove the Desktop Receiver and then install the online plug-in. Alternatively, install the plug-in using an administrator account. This issue does not occur with the online plug-in 12.0.x for Windows. [#218688]

Other Known Issues

  • If the XenApp server's fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or IP address is specified in the Internet Explorer Local Intranet or Trusted Sites settings, and Internet Explorer is configured to use the proxy server, the user cannot access Web Interface from the browser. Internet Explorer hangs trying to access Web Interface. Workaround: Remove the XenApp FQDN or IP address from the Local Intranet or Trusted Sites. [#223424]
  • When Firefox 3.5.5 is set as the default browser and has the network connection set to use the proxy server, the user might not be able to launch a published application with Web Interface or the online plug-in. Workaround: Use Internet Explorer as the default browser. [#223585 and #222969]
  • When installing the Citrix online plug-in on a user device, pass-through authentication is not automatically configured. To ensure pass-through authentication is enabled for users accessing XenApp Services sites, perform the following tasks:
    1. On the XenApp server, enable the pass-through logon method for the XenApp Web site.
    2. Ensure that on the user device, Internet Explorer has the URL for Web Interface added to the local Intranet Zone.
    3. On the user device, add the icaclient.adm file using the Group Policy Editor and configure the following settings:
      • Enable Local user name and password and then select Enable pass-through authentication
      • Disable Kerberos authentication
    4. After configuration, run gpupdate /force and log off the user device and log on again.

For detailed instructions about configuring these settings, see CTX113004 (http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX113004) in the Citrix Knowledge Center. [#230082, 230078]

  • Published applications might not launch through Web Interface or the online plug-in using the ISA 2006 Proxy Server. Workaround: Use another proxy server and ensure that NTLM authentication is not configured. [#223238]
  • When launching a new session, if there is a lag between the time that the Status indicator disappears and the published application appears, the user might think the application is not launching. [#227556]

As a workaround, set the following registry key to change the timeout value:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARECitrixICA ClientEngine

    Name: SI Inactive MS

    Type: DWORD

Data: Set to the desired timeout in milliseconds

  • If HDX MediaStream for Flash is in use when an ICA session is disconnected, Adobe Flash playback does not resume upon reconnection. Flash playback restarts from the beginning when the user refreshes the affected Windows Internet Explorer window or tab. [#216090]
  • If HDX MediaStream for Flash is enabled, when a user is viewing Flash content in an Internet Explorer session connected with the Citrix online plug-in, changing the desktop display resolution on the user device or changing the session to seamless mode causes the URL of the Flash content to be blocked for that user for 24 hours. [#225497]
  • Internet Explorer 7 can become unresponsive within a XenApp or XenDesktop session. The issue occurs when no behavior for HDX Flash Acceleration is preselected, opening a site with a significant amount of Adobe Flash content, and clicking Disable HDX MediaStream for Flash when prompted. [ #227033]

Third-Party Issues

  • Using a published version of Lotus Word Pro might fail with the error Cannot write to directory directory_path when saving a file in the Documents folder. For a workaround and more information, see http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21108551 and http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27007736. [#225900]
  • When a user launches a published version of Groove 2007 and tries to open a new topic in a Discussion, the topic screen does not contain any text boxes because the feature is not compatible with Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration (ESC). Workaround: Have the user log into a Desktop session (local or published) first. Once the user logs into the Desktop session, the issue does not occur in any subsequent Groove launches. [#227619]

Other Known Issues - XenDesktop Connections

  • The Desktop Viewer does not read any settings stored in the Policies section of the registry. Settings can be stored in either HKLMSoftwareCitrix or HKCUSoftwareCitrix. [#216386]
  • Icons are used on desktop buttons in the Desktop Viewer toolbar. The icons display the virtual desktop in miniature. In some circumstances, the icons may not update correctly. As a separate issue, multiple buttons may show the same icon. No workarounds exist for these issues. [#214552, 213678, 218676]
  • The Desktop Viewer menu is not compliant with the accessibility standards of Section 508. [#213373, 213375]
